UNHR joins letters demanding action by the UN Human Rights Council on U.S. abuses

UNHR has joined over 60 U.S. human rights organizations in sending letters to the President of the UN Human Rights Council and the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights demanding action to investigate and monitor the human rights crisis in the United States.

We’re proud to sign on to letters to UN high level officials demanding urgent action to challenge the United States’ withdrawal from the Universal Periodic Review and attempted dismantling of a core pillar of the UN Human Rights Council.

The U.S. withdrawal from the UPR must be met with increased scrutiny from the international community to reinforce for all states that they cannot evade peer evaluation of their human rights record.
