Leyly Moridi

Partnerships and Communications Specialist

Leyly Moridi is the Partnerships and Communications Specialist at the University Network for Human Rights. In addition to strengthening UNHR’s strategic partnerships and institutional communications, she oversees gender mainstreaming across the organization and coordinates student training initiatives in Canada.

Leyly first worked with UNHR while at the Jackson School of Global Studies at Yale in 2023 through the Mexico Disappearances Project. In that project, she conducted on-the-ground documentation and co-authored a joint report on this issue with Fundar, a leading human rights organization in Mexico. The report examined barriers to accessing justice for cases of enforced disappearances and their acute impact on women, both as relatives of victims and as human rights defenders. Before UNHR, Leyly worked on gender equality policy research in the nonprofit sector and led global public health projects as a civil servant in the UK.

Leyly holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Yale University and a B.A. from the University of Cambridge (UK). She is fluent in English and French and is based in Montreal, Quebec.
