UNHR publishes feature of forcibly displaced community two years after ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh

On the two-year anniversary of the Azerbaijani military offensive in September 2023 that precipitated the mass exodus of over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, the University Network published findings from eighth trip to the region over the summer of 2025. During this trip, supervisors and students met with members of the forcibly displaced community to understand their efforts to fight the erasure of their existence and rights.

The feature, “Artsakh remains: Where those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh are resisting cultural and political erasure,” was published in Armenian Weekly, and featured text, photography and illustration by UNHR student researchers.
